Once the import data process is completed, a message appears declaring that a new data has been added to the list of data elements (1).
The right-hand side of the screen (2) shows all data fields pertaining to the new data element.
Since the Mapping screen provides an aggregation of the (Units of mesure Quantity (1) and Amount (2)) data related to each representative, a filtering of the imported data is necessary in order to set relevant commissions, such as per product or sales amount.
For example, if the original data source looks like the following example, we need to filter the data by product [Sugar / Butter / Coffee / Tea], and eventually by amount [100,000 / 75,000 / 50,000 / 25,000] in order to define commissions within certain ranges.
Proceed as follows:
- Select the new Data Element (1), created out of the external data source
- Verify the Data Element page
- is shown (2)
- Press the New Filter button (3). The New Filter page is shown.
- Type the new data element Name (2) in the filter screen (1). It is recommended that you insert a name close to the Data Element for ease of identification.
- Click on Act as Target box if you want that the commission value is set as Target for representatives. (Not sure this is correct!)
- Click on Manager Authorization box (3) if you want this condition restricted by an authorization.
- Once the identification is completed, the filtering rules or conditions must be defined. The Define Conditions (4) allows you to define that the filtering is a logical AND condition or an OR condition.
- Click on AND (or OR) button (1) on for the addition of the condition.
- Click button (2) to open the selection bar (3).
- Select the value that defines the data element out of the drop box. The selection list is the headers of the Excel table of the external data source.
For example, select “Product”.
- Next, select the logical condition for your element. These logical conditions are defined for the Incentives trade. In the following example, select “equal”.
- Click the advanced selection button to select the detailed product definition.
- The “Advanced Rule Settings” window is displayed. It enables selecting the Value for defining the Data Element. Click on Show Values.
- Press Show Values. A drop down list of the products in the data source file is shown for your selection.
For example, select Coffee.
- Press OK. The detailed Data Element (2) is now narrowly defined from the new Data Element (1). It is named Sales R Coffee (2), and the Product (3) element is defined for Coffee (4).
- Press Save Filter (5) to complete the process.
The new detailed data element (1) is listed below the main external data source Element. The type of Data Elements is indicated by a filter symbol (2).
- Press the button at any stage to delete all the filtering definitions and restart anew.
